Person-Centred Counsellor

Nikki Dunne

Are past struggles or current obstacles leaving you feeling stuck, stressed or uncertain?

When you feel this way, it drains your energy, harms your relationships and prevents you from experiencing genuine fulfillment.

If you are ready to understand yourself better, accept where you are and define the direction for your future. Nikki provides the clear, supportive space necessary to make that happen using a person-centred approach to therapy.

Therapy and counselling for adults, young people (14+) & couples

Are you or your child feeling low, depressed or anxious? Perhaps you are troubled by intrusive thoughts, memories, or panic, or are struggling with the impact of a traumatic experience. If relationships feel hard or you feel alone, disconnected or lonely, you don’t have to stay there.

What if you could change this and live the life you want and deserve?

Through psychotherapy and counselling, Nikki can help you explore the things that are affecting you and support you to improve how you feel, and your day-to-day life. Nikki is a trauma focussed counsellor and can offer tools and techniques to work through traumatic events and early life experiences.

Nikki offers a range of techniques and you are in control of what you want to use. For example, identifying emotions and needs, body and breath work, using creative methods for such as pictures, drawings and cards.

Flexible Sessions

Accessing counselling is a significant financial commitment. Therefore, there is no expectation on how often you should meet. We can work together to find a frequency that suits your situation and budget- whether that’s weekly or fortnightly. You may wish to start regularly and lessen the frequency over time.

Couples Counselling

If you are experiencing challenges in your relationship, couples counselling is a powerful way to work on understanding each other, move away from negative patterns, or reconnect after a significant event like an affair, loss, or the stress of raising children.

Fairness and equality are core values in Nikki’s couples work. She will be impartial and ensure that both of you are heard, by her and by each other.

Key goals in couples counselling often include:

  • Improving communication with each other.
  • Helping you understand each other’s needs.
  • Exploring how past experiences affect your current relational needs.

Nikki will work with you to define what you would like to gain from counselling, moving you towards a more fulfilling and connected relationship.
